Rescue Restore Redeem

Eight Days

Eight days. That is how much time is left before Emily and I head to Haiti this summer. Eight days. 192 hours. Time is getting close.

Just to make sure you are up to date, on May 23 my oldest daughter, Emily and I will make our way to Haiti for the summer. Emily is serving as an intern for Northwest Haiti Christian Mission and I will be working with the staff and teams as they travel through this summer. In total, we will spend ten weeks serving the people of Haiti.

Alana, Zachary and Kimberly will travel over on June 19 and spend about four weeks with us. It will be hard being separated that long, but we are confident that God has called us to serve in this way. We know God has amazing things in store for us as individuals and as a family.

Please be praying for us as we go. Haiti is not an easy place to live. There is no electricity most of the time, very little air conditioning, poverty and need is everywhere and we will be constantly fighting an enemy who wants to discourage us and keep us from focusing on our Heavenly Father.

Also pray for our staff. Summer can often be a challenging time. When teams are at the mission there is little down time. Pray for patience, servant hearts and comforting peace from the Holy Spirit.

Pray for me this summer. I am beginning a brand new aspect of this ministry journey and to be honest I am a little scared. I know God has amazing things in store, but stepping out of our comfort zone is just that: uncomfortable.

For those of you who are supporting us financially, thank you so much. You are an incredible blessing to our lives. You allow us the privilege of serving beautiful people in Haiti and awesome mission staff with NWHCM. We could literally not do this without you.

If you have not joined our ministry support team, we could really use you. You can register here to be part of our financial support team:  http://onelifeadventures.org/how-to-support-the-harveys-financially/

Blessings to you all, and I will update you regularly on all God is doing in Haiti.
